Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor Confirmed To Fight This August
Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will return to the ring for an historic fight with UFC Champion CONOR MCGREGOR in Las Vegas this August.
The undefeated boxer bowed out of the sport in 2015 after his 49th consecutive win, but in March, he declared he was officially out of retirement so he could face off with mixed martial arts star McGregor.
UFC president Dana White has been trying to negotiate a deal between the two sportsman ever since, and on Wednesday (June 14), Mayweather made the announcement fans had been waiting for.
Mayweather shared a poster advertising the big bout on August 26 on Instagram, and simply captioned it, “IT’S OFFICIAL!!!”
McGregor, who recently became a first-time father, also posted about the news on his page, and declared, “THE FIGHT IS ON”.
White said the fight will be a 12-round boxing match at the T-Mobile Arena, with both men weighing in at 154 pounds.
