The G-wagon by Mercedes-Benz is one of the most prestigious and expensive SUVs on the road. Until now, its off-road performance has been dismal. It looks like that just changed with the German automaker’s newest G-Wagon, the Maybach G-650 Landaulet. The Maybach G-650 combines the utmost in luxury with powerful off-road capability.

This vehicle was designed to be a very competent off-road vehicle. With a twin-turbocharged V12 engine, 630 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque, the Maybach G-650 can tackle just about any off-road terrain thrown at it. The Maybach G-wagon is equipped with 22-inch five-spoke wheels. Underneath the vehicle, portal axles boost the ground clearance to 450mm.

Extreme luxury means that comfort won’t take a backseat to any off-road adventure. There is an electric fabric top, which provides a unique open-top experience for the rear passengers. Among the ultra-luxurious features of the Maybach G-550 are fully-reclinable heated massage seats, a console that heats and cools beverages and an electric glass partition that separates the front compartment from the back. Each seat is equipped with a 10-inch entertainment screen. Rear-seat passengers enjoy the convenience of a set of convenient writing tables that fold out from the centre console. There are even adjustable calf rests. Because of a long wheelbase, passengers have plenty of legroom.

Mercedes plans to unveil the Maybach G-650 Landaulet at the Geneva Motor Show. If you want to get your hands on one of these, you will have to act fast, though. Mercedes has said that they plan to release just 99 of these limited-edition vehicles.
