Carmello Huff, a student at JL Mann High School, has passed away recently, and that has caused the community in Greenville, South Carolina, to express their sorrow. 19-yearsold Huff was an outstanding student athlete. His goal was to develop into a remarkable individual.
Sandra Granada Villada wrote on social media, “Carmelo Huff… you will be missed. Crazy kid with the kindest heart!!! What a tragedy. Please pray for his soul. Pray for his family. Pray for his friends. If you want to help with funeral costs anything will be greatly appreciated. Love each other!”
In March 2024, in accordance with the allegation of first-offense criminal sexual activity with a juvenile, Carmello Jahmez Huff was taken into custody by the Horry County police department on Thursday and subsequently put into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. His bond was set at $50,000, and he was freed on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Huff allegedly called the girl into a bedroom at a residence in Garden City where “two other males were present.” The warrant notes that the location was in Garden City. After being requested to stop, Huff allegedly removed the girl’s clothes and sexually assaulted her while the door was closed and locked when the incident occurred.
In accordance with the incident report, the police were contacted on Thursday and confronted Huff at the site where the assault took place. While Huff was being addressed by law enforcement, other officers who responded to the scene kept the premises safe and preserved evidence.
The report states that an officer called the minor victim in order to obtain additional information regarding the alleged rape, and the girl stated that she offered a thorough and exact description of the location where the assault took place. Under the direction of the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, the investigation is now being conducted.

On Saturday, August 3, 2024, at one o’clock in the afternoon, funeral services will be held at Upstate Church, located at 2331 Laurens Road in Greenville, South Carolina 29607. Interment will take place in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
