Cynthia was raised under the guidance of the legendary Don Cherry, a former NHL coach and well-known Canadian announcer of Hockey Night in Canada. She was born on March 29, 1957. On July 15, 2024, Cynthia unexpectedly passed away in the Trillium Health Centre.
About Don Cherry
Canadian-born Donald Stewart Cherry was born on February 5, 1934, and has worked as a television analyst and coach in ice hockey. After finishing a brilliant playing career in the American Hockey League, he managed the Boston Bruins for five seasons, coaching them to four division titles and two Stanley Cup Final appearances. He played one game in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Boston Bruins.
In the 2004 CBC miniseries The Greatest Canadian, Cherry was ranked as the seventh-greatest Canadian of all time by viewers. Based on a screenplay written by his son Timothy Cherry, his life was portrayed in a two-part CBC television film titled Keep Your Head Up, Kid: The Don Cherry Story, which aired in March 2010. A follow-up, The Wrath of Grapes: The Don Cherry Story II, broadcast on CBC in March 2012.

Don Cherry spent much of his coaching career in Boston, although he also held positions as head coach of the Colorado Rockies and Boston Bruins. Later in his life, Don became a well-known commentator on Hockey Night in Canada, a show that hockey fans would watch on television every weekend. Every intermission, he and his sidekick Ron McLean would chat in a segment called Coach’s Corner.
Summary
Don is going to miss his father Roger and daughter Cindy, who is leaving her son Del behind. She was the cherished daughter of her late mother, Rose, as well as of Don.
