Gunfire broke out in a busy public park in Rochester, New York on Sunday evening, leaving two ladies dead and five more injured.

When the shooting began at 6:20 p.m. in Rochester’s Maplewood Park, hundreds of people were attending an all-day event, according to the authorities. While authorities were still attempting to ascertain the cause of the violence and its perpetrators on Monday, Police Chief David Smith stated that numerous guns were discharged.

According to authorities, 25-year-old Tyasia Manning, a city employee, died. Later on, Phylicia Council, age 34, became a victim as well.

At a press conference on Monday, the authorities stated that the five additional individuals struck by gunfire only had minor injuries, such as scratches, and no life-threatening ailments.

According to authorities, no suspects were in custody. People at the park recorded videos for social media, showing people fleeing as soon as the gunfire started and then bystanders administering CPR to one victim until emergency personnel could get to the scene. There are dozens of shots audible.

Between the city’s heart and Lake Ontario, Maplewood Park stretches along the Genesee River’s banks.

According to the police, flyers had been used to publicize the event. The event was not mentioned, but they did state that the organizers were not needed to get a prior permit from the city.
