We announce with heavy hearts that Ephrem Harris ’24, a beloved recent graduate, has passed away after a valiant fight with cancer. Ephrem was a bright spot in our school community, respected for his unwavering determination, generosity, and contagious enthusiasm. His warmth and unrelenting optimism impacted everyone he encountered and motivated those around him to pursue greatness.
Ephrem was an ardent participant in the football and track teams, personifying all the qualities we cherish in an AR scholar. His desire to succeed and his love of sportsmanship were the only things that could compare to his dedication to his squad. Ephrem set an exemplary example for his classmates by being a true team player, whether he was on the field or the track. In addition to his physical skill, his coaches and players appreciated him for his ability to treat everyone with respect and encouragement.
Ephrem’s influence went beyond sports. He was an exceptional student who approached his coursework with the same zeal and commitment that he demonstrated in athletics. His teachers recall him as an inquisitive and involved student who was constantly willing to try new things and support his peers. Ephrem’s participation in the classroom demonstrated his commitment to self-improvement and faith in the value of education.
We express our sincere sympathies to Ephrem’s family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him. We are very saddened by this loss. On Thursday, August 1, from 9 AM to 12 PM, our guidance staff will be accessible in the Main Office for any graduates or students who require assistance during this trying time.
