Harvey Walker Allen has passed away suddenly. He was confirmed dead on Friday, on July 25, 2024 following recently released statements announcing his death. He died at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston at the age of 86, leaving many behind many people who had the privilege of meeting and knowing him during the course of his life. He was a grandpa, father, husband, and soon-to-be great-grandfather.

Surrounded by his family, Harvey Walker Allen, 86, of Newton, Massachusetts, died peacefully on July 25th at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, and soon-to-be great-grandfather.
Harvey’s life was anchored by his family, his philanthropy, his friendships, M.S. Walker, and athletics. Harvey had his entire life surrounded by love, laughter, family, and friends.
On Valentine’s Day in 1938, Harvey was born in Newton, Massachusetts, to the late Ruth and Leo Allen, along with his sister Nancy Shaw and his late brother-in-law Robert. Paula (Levine) Allen, Harvey’s wife, and his seven children—Brett Allen and wife Vicki (Kafka), who have two children, Dylan and Alexa; Brooke Allen; Ross Allen and wife Lior (Alon); Max Allen and fiancé Olivia (Lapides); and Max Levine—all carry on Harvey’s legacy. Robyn Stavis, who was married to the late Norman Stavis and is the mother of Barrie Stavis, Rachel Stevens and husband Nick Stevens, and Joshua Stavis.
Growing up in Newton, Massachusetts, Harvey attended Colby College and Middlesex High School. He nearly inked a deal to pitch for the Boston Red Sox after graduating from college, but he decided to stay on campus and eventually joined M.S. Walker. Leo Allen said to his kid at the time that “he’d be better off in business than in baseball.”
